At Stella Taleb Design, our approach to every design and build project is rooted in a deep understanding of interior architecture, entrepreneurship, and real estate investment. This unique blend of expertise allows us to create spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also financially sound and tailored to the specific needs of our clients.

A Legacy of Real Estate and Design

My journey in the world of design, renovation, and real estate began long before I established my company. With a background in interior architecture and three years of experience in real estate sales in Norway, I’ve been immersed in the intricacies of property value from both a creative and financial perspective. This understanding is further enriched by my family’s involvement in real estate investment—my grandfather was a developer, and my parents were keen investors. These experiences have given me a profound respect for the balance between a project’s design and its potential return on investment.

Understanding the Future of the Project

When I approach a new project, I don’t just see it as a space to be designed; I consider its future use. Whether the property will be owner-occupied, rented, or serve as an investment, each scenario requires a different design strategy. For owner-occupied properties, it’s essential to create a space that resonates with the client, ensuring it meets their needs and desires without overcapitalising. It’s about finding that perfect balance where the design fulfils the client’s vision while being mindful of the budget.

The Importance of Value in Design and Renovation

One of the key aspects of my approach is advising clients on how to maximise value. While it’s easy to be swayed by beautiful architectural designs, the reality is that not all designs are cost-effective or add long-term value to a property. I often see plans that look fantastic on paper but would require substantial investment to bring to life. My role is to guide clients through these decisions, helping them understand the financial implications and advising them on where to invest to ensure their property gains in value.

The Structure, The Fixtures, and The Soul

In every project, I break down the design and build process into three core components: the structure (the “bone”), the fixtures (the “muscle”), and the interior design (the “soul”). The structure is the foundation—if it’s not done right from the start, the entire project is at risk. This is why we work closely with our in-house construction team, Bebel Construction, to ensure the structural integrity of every build.

The fixtures, such as bespoke joinery, kitchens, and bathrooms, are the elements that add functionality and aesthetic appeal to the space. While these can be updated over time, it’s crucial to get them right initially to ensure they meet the client’s needs for at least the next 15 to 20 years.

Finally, the interior design—the soul of the project—brings everything together. This includes the colours, furnishings, and finishes that make a house feel like a home. These are often the most flexible elements, allowing for updates and changes as trends evolve or as the client’s tastes change.

Building for the Future with Sustainable Design

Every decision we make in the design and build process is aimed at adding value to the property. Whether it’s advising against unnecessary expenditures or suggesting sustainable design adjustments that will enhance the property’s appeal, our goal is always to ensure that the client’s investment is sound. We pride ourselves on delivering projects that not only meet the client’s immediate needs but also stand the test of time.

At Stella Taleb Design, we believe that the foundation of any successful project begins with early involvement. By involving us from the start, before DA approval, clients benefit from our comprehensive guidance on the structure, design, and architectural elements. This proactive approach allows us to ensure the feasibility of the project, prevent overcapitalisation, and align every detail with the client’s vision and budget.

However, we also welcome projects that have already received DA approval. In these cases, our focus shifts to ensuring that the build is executed with precision, with particular attention to the foundation and structural integrity. By partnering with us, whether from the beginning or later in the process, clients gain access to our extensive expertise in design, construction, and real estate, ensuring that their investment is sound and their project is brought to life with the highest standards of quality and value.

Choosing Stella Taleb Design means choosing a partner dedicated to making your vision a reality, with a commitment to excellence that extends from the first concept to the final touches. Let us guide you through every stage of your project, ensuring that each decision adds value and enhances the long-term potential of your property.
